Every year on January 24, the Day of the Engineering Service of the Troops of the National Guard of Russia is celebrated. It was on this day in 1947 that the engineering service was created in the Main Directorate of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR.
Today, the engineering units of the Rosgvardia Directorate for the Smolensk Region include highly qualified professionals. Their work includes participation in special events to detect and neutralize explosive devices, as well as surveying the sites of mass events.
The employees of the engineering and technical department of the OMON "Krivich" regularly face high risks while performing their tasks. Thus, last year alone, they successfully completed over 100 specialized operations, during which they seized and identified about 150 explosive objects and ammunition.
Improving professional skills is an integral part of the work of the specialists of the engineering service of the Russian Guard. This is achieved through training, training sessions and daily performance of official duties.
